The brief

The Old Vic is renowned and loved the world over. Dating back nearly 200 years, the theatre’s reputation has beenbuilt on world class productions (from Olivier’s Hamlet, to Ian McKellen’s Widow Twankey). Under Kevin Spacey’s artistic direction, they have asserted themselves as the leading theatre in London.

The solution

Rose are the guardians of the Old Vic brand. Over the past six years, we have helped them define their own distinctive visual language across every aspect of the company including signage, front of house, programmes, production marketing, advertising, fund-raising and membership materials. We are also one of the official sponsors of the world famous 24 Hour Plays.

The result

Our marketing design and branding work has helped the Old Vic break numerous box office records with productions including Speed-the-Plow, The Norman Conquests, and the Bridge Project collaboration with Sam Mendes. It has also helped them achieve their status as one of the UK’s CoolBrands™.
