When a business, institution or organisation needs to change to avoid stagnating, or appeal to new audiences, or remain fit for purpose in a rapidly changing sector, it needs to reposition its brand. Depending on the commercial, operational or cultural objectives driving the need for change, some clients require a sympathetic brand evolution to ensure they don't alienate existing customers. Others require a more significant evolution to better reflect the changes they are making to their audiences. Either way, rebranding is an essential investment in the future of any successful organisation. At Rose, we call this transformation ‘brand evolution’.
Brand review
Rose undertake a brand review to help our clients evolve. We formulate a simple and appropriate methodology for every project, which employs our proven working process. Firstly, we have to understand the need for change. We look at the brand from the perspective of its audiences (both internal and external), to understand what works and what needs to evolve to become fit for purpose.
Brand strategy
Rose often helps clients articulate their organisations with greater clarity and purpose by creating or reviewing their brand strategy. We do this through a process of consultation to identify the problems and key challenges, which will inform the most appropriate solution to meet our clients’ objectives and ambitions. We then define the brand in a series of short, compelling sentences and establish a distinctive brand vocabulary to inform the creative process. We then distil the brand strategy down to a simple essence – the golden thread running through the brand, and the measure of every experience it delivers.
Brand identity
Using the brand strategy as the foundation for our creative brief, Rose translates theory into practice to show our clients what their brand transformation might look, feel and sound like. By exploring different creative directions for the most appropriate development of the brand, we help our clients develop and reveal a new visual and verbal identity, which best suits the needs of the organisation and their future plans for growth.
Brand campaigns
Any successful campaign needs to stand out, be distinctive and make a compelling connection with target audiences, so they can understand and relate to the brand offer. Rose creates brand campaigns and brand marketing as an invitation to the curious, using the brand identity to pique interest in target audiences by commanding their attention. We then seduce and engage them with powerful visuals and distilled messaging, supported by a clear call to action. All our campaigns work across multiple formats and media, and are increasingly digital-first to better suit the needs and consumer habits of our clients’ audiences.
Brand assets and brand guidelines
Rose expertly crafts logos, brand marks and brand assets, for use in all media and platforms, including digital, online, print and environmental. Rose also creates clear and concise brand guidelines, usually as the concluding stage of a brand evolution process. But increasingly, clients are asking us to review and evolve their brand guidelines as an independent exercise, to help create greater flexibility in application, as well as greater consistency in execution. Either way, we design easy-to-use brand guidelines that can be used by internal staff, as well as third-party agencies and designers.
